Histocore - our offer

A histological and immunohistochemical facility located in Biomedicum, offering competences and equipment for histology, immunohistochemistry, and RNAscope. We routinely perform cryo- and paraffin sectioning of tissues of animal and human origin. We also assist in conceptualization, setting up and optimizing histological and immunohistochemical approaches specific for each research project.

We work with researchers to develop new staining and labelling approaches, based on personal needs. Our main goal is to combine the classic histological approaches with cutting-edge technology like RNA in situ using RNAscope technology.

Consultations

All researchers can contact us for consultancy on:

  • experimental design and planning
  • establishment and optimization of protocols
  • project-relevant tissue processing (dehydration, cryopreservation, tissue-clearing etc.)
  • histological staining and related troubleshooting
  • sectioning frozen and paraffin embedded speciments and related troubleshooting
  • immunostaining using fluorescent or chromogenic detection and related troubleshooting
  • RNAscope

Trainings

We provide:

  • 1,5-hour training for self-use of cryostats, microtomes and paraffin embedding station.
  • Vibratome training from 30 minutes upt to 1 hour, depending on customers' needs.

Please send request for training in iLab. Your training will be scheduled within one to two weeks from submission of your request.

Please note that tissue dehydration is performed only by staff, and no training is provided for this.

Price per slide with two serial sections

If specific demand for tissue orientation/slide composition, price is calculated per hour of service. If less than 30 sections, price is calculated per hour of service.

Paraffin sections
