The Professional services at the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology consists of a joint administrative department. We provide administrative services to students, PhD students as well as employees and affiliated researchers at the department.

Management Support

I can help you get in touch with the Head of Department to, for example, book a meeting or get a signature on recommendation or support letters. Note that applications for research grants should first go through Roelinde Middelveld  (see Research support below).

I am the editor of the FyFa weekly newsletter, so if you have any news or information that is relevant there, please let me know.

I also handle FyFa's lab and office premises, so if you need more or less space or have other needs regarding this, please contact me.

Human resources

The HR unit at FyFa helps the research groups with:

  • Provide consultative support to FyFas managers.
  • Support in questions regarding employment matters such as illness, leave of absence, salary setting, performance management, holidays, benefits and regulations.
  • Support in questions regarding travels and expenses
  • Support in the process of recruiting new employees, both advisory and administrative, and with employment certificate.
  • Rehabilitation due to longer sick leave and contacts with the Occupational Health Service.
  • Opportunities for employees who experience problems in work or in the workgroup, for example regarding work environment, harassment or illness to contact HR.
  • Coordinate the overall HR work within the department.

Financial unit

We help you with research project applications and financial reports. We assist with budgeting and provide follow-up of research groups. We work with the education finance of FyFa and support the FyFa management in their strategic planning. General accounting, such as closing of accounts, and financial reporting to KI university management and financial compliance are other important areas.

Communications and web

The communications officer can help you if you need assistance with planning your communication, publish seminars, events, and news articles on the web, tips for the newsletter.

Visiting address

Administrative staff are available in block A3 at least three days a week. Check each person's availability in individual Outlook calendar ("Working in another location"). All personnel within HR, finance and research support are on site on Wednesdays and Thursdays. The entire education administration is on site on Wednesdays. Of course, you can contact us throughout the week via email, phone or Teams. To provide additional support, you can also find parts of the administrative staff in quarter 5C, next to Sabina de Villiers, during the week. Currently, we do not have fixed days.
