International Neuroinformatics Coordinating Facility (INCF)

Our mission is to develop, evaluate, and endorse standards and best practices that embrace the principles of open, FAIR, and citable neuroscience. INCF also provides training on how standards and best practices facilitate reproducibility and enables the publishing of the entirety of research output, including data and code.

Who we are

The INCF network is composed of academic institutions and projects, non-profit organizations, infrastructure providers, funders, industry, and publishers that provide financial or scientific contributions that support the development of standards and best practices, as well as the promotion of neuroinformatics as a scientific discipline. INCF currently has 21 academic or non-profit group members and 6 corporate group members.

What we do

The INCF network serves as a forum for members to take stock of their efforts and resources to leverage and align these to maximize efficiency and increase the impact of their outputs, utilizing existing mechanisms where possible or creating new ones where necessary. INCF organizes an annual neuroinformatics conference, training opportunities, meetings of the INCF Working Groups, and many other activities to further our mission. INCF is also a mentor for Google Summer of Code, and supports tool development and hackathons on various neuroscientific topics.

How we work

The INCF network functions through its 6 governing bodies, many Working Groups, and a number of global collaborations. The network is supported with project management, outreach, meeting logistics, and coordination by the INCF Secretariat.
