Boris Zhivotovsky Research Group
Molecular mechanisms of cell death and implication in disease
The research in the group can be divided into two parts: basic research, which is focused on investigating the role of proteases in cell nucleus-mitochondrial signaling in apoptosis. The second part is applied research that focuses on the understanding of the apoptotic machinery in human tumor cells that are resistant to anticancer treatment and through this we hope to be able to modify the effectiveness of killing these tumors.
