Report other credit-bearing activities at GPH

Practical information for you as a doctoral student at GPH on educational activities and how to report them.

Doctoral students are required to engage in educational activities besides courses and research. These activities are described in the general syllabus for doctoral education.

To apply for the defence, you need to fulfill the following requirements in educational activities and credits:

  •  Journal clubs, seminars, workshops and/or symposia: min 1.5 credits - max 6 credits
  •  International conferences (for which your abstract has been submitted in concurrence with others): 1.5 credits per conference. A maximum of 2 conferences is allowed
  • Total of credits for educational activities required is 4.5 credits minimum.

Optional educational activities such as teaching and visiting a research group at another university give can be reported for credits:

  • Teaching within own research field for practical pedagogical training: max 4.5 credits allowed
  • Visit to a research group at another university: max 6 credits allowed

How to report the credits?

Use the form 16 and submit it along with the GPH certificate of attendance and other relevant attachments. Send your documents to fu-adm-gph@ki.se

Report your attendance to educational activities once a year. The credits must be approved by the study director and registered in Ladok before you can apply for defence. Contact the administrator for doctoral education if you have any questions.
