The project aimed to improve the quality of life for these patients by using advanced technology to monitor their symptoms and provide real-time feedback and guidance. iPrognosis leveraged the latest advances in wearable technology, machine learning, and mobile health to create a unique, patient-centred solution that empowers patients to take control of their health and wellness.

The iPrognosis system consisted of wearable devices, mobile applications, and cloud-based data analysis tools that work together to provide a complete picture of the patient's health. The wearable devices were continuously monitoring the patient's symptoms and physical activity, while the mobile applications provided easy-to-use interfaces for patients to interact with the system and receive feedback and guidance. The cloud-based data analysis tools used machine learning algorithms to analyse the patient's data and provide meaningful insights and recommendations for the patient and their healthcare provider. A community of over 5000 older individuals was created to provide behavioural data through the use of their mobile devices. Advanced data analytics and machine learning techniques were used to create a PD Behavioural Model and early symptom alarms while ensuring privacy. Early-stage PD patients received ICT-based interventions for physical and emotional support, improved sleep, and voice and gait improvement, contributing to healthy and active aging.

iPrognosis was a 4-year project funded by the EU Research Programme Horizon 2020 and developed by a consortium of leading academic institutions and companies from across Europe, working together to bring this innovative solution to patients suffering from chronic conditions. The project's goal was to create a sustainable, scalable, and replicable solution that can be adopted by healthcare providers and patients across Europe and beyond.
