Henrik Ehrsson

Henrik Ehrsson är professor i kognitiv neurovetenskap vid Karolinska Institutet, där han påbörjade sin anställning som forskarassistent år 2008 efter att ha slutfört en postdoktoral forskning vid The Wellcome Trust Centre for Neuroimaging vid University College London. Henrik Ehrsson har både en doktorsexamen och en läkarexamen från Karolinska Institutet.
Professor Ehrssons forskning är inriktad på att förstå den neurokognitiva grunden för varseblivningen av den egna kroppen. Han undersöker de kognitiva processerna och de neurala mekanismer som möjliggör för hjärnan att skilja mellan sensoriska signaler från den egna kroppen jämfört med händelser och objekt i den yttre miljön, samt bildandet av en sammanhängande upplevelse av det fysiska jaget baserat på förnimmelser från olika sensoriska system som beröring, proprioception, syn och interoception. Denna forskning har betydande implikationer för framsteg inom neuroproteser och avatarförkroppsligande i virtual reality-teknologier, samt för forskning inom neuropsykiatriska och psykiatriska störningar som påverkar kroppsuppfattningen och jagupplevelsen.
Henrik Ehrsson har publicerat över 130 vetenskapliga artiklar i ledande internationella vetenskapliga tidskrifter, inklusive publikationer i Science, Neuron och Nature Communications. Hans arbete har varit inflytelserikt, med över 13, 200 citeringar och ett H-index på 58 (från och med april 2024). Professor Ehrsson har erhållit flera utmärkelser och prestigefyllda forskningsanslag, inklusive Distinguished Professor Grant från Vetenskapsrådet (2018), Göran Gustafsons pris i medicin utdelat av Kungliga Vetenskapsakademien (2017), och två anslag från Europeiska forskningsrådet.
