Om mig
- Ljubica Matic har doktorsexamen i Medicinsk Biokemi från Karolinska
Institutet, Sverige 2012 och MSc-examen (Cum Laude) i Molekylärbiologi från
Belgrads Universitetet, Serbien 2003. Sedan 2012 jobbar hon som senior
forskare och biträdande professor i Kärlkirurgi gruppen, MMK, Karolinska
Institutet. Hennes huvudsakliga fokus ligger på nya molekylära mekanismer
för kärlsjukdomar som är särskilt relaterade till glattmuskelceller,
liksom på biomarkörer och terapeutiska metoder vid åderförkalkning. Hon
använder integrativa systemanalyser, kombinerar bioinformatiska och kliniska
dataundersökningar med in vivo modeller av kärlsjukdom, medan in
vitro-systemer baserade på primära celler och vävnadsexplantater används
för funktionella och mekaniska undersökningar. Hennes forskning har
tilldelats flera bidrag och stipendier från SSMF och Heart-Lung Foundation
(HLF). Sedan 2004 har hon också kontinuerligt ägnat sig åt pedagogiskt
arbete som föreläsare, handledare och kursledare för doktorander i
kardiovaskulärprogrammet och studenter i medicin- och biomedicinprogrammen
på KI. Som granskare är hon aktiv i flera tidskrifter och
finansieringsorganisationer, dvs American Journal of Human Genetics, Journal
of Internal Medicine, Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF), medan hon som
styrelseledamot bidrar till KI Respiration and Inflammation Network (KIRCNET
