Open call for The Engelsberg Scholars-In-Residence 2024 at Engelsberg Ironworks UNESCO World Heritage Site

Axel and Margaret Ax:son Johnson Foundation for Public Benefit welcomes researchers from KI Lifestyle4Health to apply for The Engelsberg Scholars-in-Residence programme 2024 at the UNESCO World Heritage Site Engelsberg Ironworks in Västmanland.
The programme is set up by the Ax:son Johnson Foundation, a private foundation supporting scientific research within the Humanities and Social Sciences.
Eligibility
The Engelsberg SiR programme is open for researchers from KI Lifestyle4Health looking for a quiet and inspirational place to write, finishing an article, a book project or similar academic endeavour.
Practical information
During 1-3 weeks scholars have the opportunity to live at Engelsberg Ironworks, a two-hour drive from Stockholm. All scholars have their private kitchen, responsible for their own catering, including buying food, throughout the stay. Families are welcome. There is wifi via fiber across all houses. Each scholar gets a desk at Ventilfabriken and access to printer. Daily tea time for scholars to meet in a non-ceremonial way. There are no costs involved, other than travel and self-catering.
Application
Submit a short personal letter of interest outlining your intentions for the residency together with your CV. Indicate possible time frames for your residency during May, July, September or October. Maximum 3 weeks stay. Please send your application to Programme Manager Louise Belfrage louise.belfrage@axess.se.
Application deadline is March 22nd, 2024.
Decisions regarding successful applications will be sent out by April 8th.

The programme is set up by the Axel and Margaret Ax:son Johnson Foundation, a private foundation supporting scientific research within the Humanities and Social Sciences.

During 1-3 weeks you have the opportunity to live at Engelsbergs bruk. You will be staying in one of the buildings on the site with you private kitchen,
responsible for your own catering, including buying food, throughout your stay. Those who wish can also bring their family. There is wifi across all houses, via fiber. There is access to printer, and each scholar gets a desk at our venue Ventilfabriken. There will be daily tea time for scholars to meet in a non-ceremonial way, and depending on the covid-19 restrictions, possible additional programme. There is no cost involved for the scholar, other than travel and selfcatering.

Do indicate possible time frames that are suitable for you between April 19th - Aug 14th and Aug 29th - Nov 20th 2022.
