About the network AutNetKI
The Autism Research Network at Karolinska Institutet (AutNetKI) is a multidisciplinary initiative aiming to transform autism research through collaboration across disciplines.
About the network
Autism, affecting approximately 1–2% of the global population, is a lifelong neurodevelopmental variation characterized by differences in social interaction, communication, and behavior. With a rising prevalence of in Sweden, the need for innovative and inclusive research approaches is greater than ever.
AutNetKI integrates expertise from genetics, neurobiology, epidemiology, clinical practice, and advocacy to advance our understanding of autism at every level—from molecular mechanisms and neuronal circuits to public health outcomes and clinical care.
The network brings together researchers across Karolinska Institutet, representing diverse scientific perspectives. Together with autism advocacy groups such as Autism Sverige and Autister Förbundendet, AutNetKI is committed to ensuring that its research aligns with the priorities and experiences of the autism community.
