About CfG

Every cell is sexed and every individual is gendered. Sex and gender influence the incidence, cause and progression of disease.

Sex and gender also affect the access and outcomes of medical treatments, and consumption of health care in general.

The increased understanding of how sex and gender affect our health and disease processes will ultimately improve health for everyone.

Aims of the CfG

The overall aim of CfG is to support research and education towards innovation in health care via promotion and implementation of sex and gender analysis (“gender dimension”).

These activities spark new knowledge, strengthen the quality and competitiveness of scientific innovation and lead to the optimal exploitation of knowledge and expertise to improve health care for women, men, boys, and girls, and gender diverse people.

Being first established in Europe our Centre serves as a leading example and strives elaboration of already existing and new collaborations worldwide (EuGenMed, The International Society for Gender Medicine, Mayo Clinic, The Organization for the Study of Sex Differences, Stanford University Gendered Innovations).
