Suicide Prevention through Internet and Media Based Mental Health Promotion (SUPREME)
This EU-project aims at developing an online platform for the prevention of suicide and mental ill-health. The intervention is in the form of a highly interactive website targeting adolescents and young adults in the age group 14-24 years. The effects of the website will be evaluated in a randomized controlled trial with student from 7 European countries as participants.
We are also interested in comparing the dissemination effects of peer-to-peer vs adult-to-peer referral to health promotional websites such as that in SUPREME. Based on the our experiences in SUPREME and on literature reviews performed by the team, a set of guidelines will be published on Internet-based interventions and those aimed at young people in the traditional media.
We would like to thank the European commission, more specifically the EAHC and DG SANCO for funding a part of this project.
