Practical information for students at KI DS

Welcome to the Department of Clinical Sciences, Danderyd Hospital (KI DS). Here you will find practical information to help you during your time at the hospital. If you have questions about course content, please refer to Canvas or your course management team.

We hope you will enjoy your time as a student, and we aim to ensure that your study environment at KI DS works as well as possible. The study environment in a hospital differs from that of a traditional university, not least because you will spend a large part of your time here taking part in clinical placements (VFU).

Before the course starts

eService card and access permissions

You need an eService card to log in to computers, use medical record systems, access changing rooms, and enter certain areas of the hospital. The card must be collected before the course starts unless you already have one.

At the start of the course, the card must be loaded with the correct access permissions at the Service Centre, Ryggradsvägen 11, floor 3. Bring valid identification and your code envelope. Your course administration will arrange the permissions you need.

Clinicum and KTC

Activities include clinical skills training in various procedures, CPR training, and advanced medical patient simulation with a focus on teamwork and communication.

Facilities can be booked for supervised teaching and training. As a student, you can come here and practise at your own pace following instructions. Once you have completed supervised teaching in practical skills, you can come to KTC for independent practice.

During the semester, rooms are set aside at KTC for drop-in training sessions. You can find the drop-in times on Instagram ClinicumDanderyd.

KTC is located at Ryggradsvägen 21, level 4. For questions about KTC, please contact 08-123 59309 in the first instance.
