Welcome to the KI Alumni Engagement Survey 2025

This survey aims to help us understand what motivates you as alumni, what gets you involved and how we can support the strength that comes from a dedicated and global alumni network.

As alumni, you will always have a strong connection to Karolinska Institutet. The experiences you shared, your academic accomplishments and the friendships you built along the way, they will stay with you for the rest of your life. This connection often inspires to stay in touch and get involved with KI in various ways, and the following questions will help the alumni relations office at KI to make this a reality.

This year we have added a question on fundraising, for the purpose of future strategic developments and options within an alumni context.

Are you interested in being a mentor for a KI student, PhD or Post-doc?
For KI students, PhD and Post-Docs, having a mentor might prove to be invaluable to their studies and research. As a KI alum, your experiences and training at KI could truly make a difference. It could be one session over a cup of coffee or more long-term, depending on what terms you and the student agree upon.

For KI students, PhD and Post-Docs, internships are key, and alumni can be a valuable source for providing such internships.

Are you interested in giving a guest lecture at KI for students, researchers and alumni?
For many students, researchers and alumni at KI, a focused lecture or a discussion at a panel or workshop, could spark creativity and inspire further study and research. Alumni will always be a rich source for real life experience, career advice, field expertice, research and innovation. Sharing that knowledge is a sure way to stay in touch with and support KI.
If offered the opportunity as an alum, would you consider donating finacially to KI?
The majority of KI:s research funding comes from external sources, so we are dependent on the surrounding world's interest in medical research. Fundraising is therefore an important means to enable urgent strategic projects in education and research. With that said, the purpose of this question is solely to get a better idea of the interest among alumni for financial support, for potential future initiatives and strategies that might involve fundraising opportunities for alumni. Any fundraising at KI will always be done through or in collaboration with the KI Development Office.
