Registries for future study participants

Can’t find a suitable study among the ads from KI? Here is a list with registires for signing up as a volunteer participant in different types of studies in the medical field. Most of these registers are managed by other organisations than Karolinska Institutet.

Akademiskt specialistcentrum (Academic specialist centre) is part of the health care provider Region Stockholm and has a registry for healthy people who are interested in participating in future studies. For those who have a diagnosis, there may also be ongoing studies recruiting participants. Information in Swedish only.

Cancerstudier i Sverige (Cancer studies in Sweden) is a national database of current clinical studies within the cancer are. The database only contains studies that are recruting participants. Anyone can search the database, even if it is primarily aimed at researchers and professionals. In Swedish only.

ClinicalTrials.gov is an English-language website managed by the US National Institutes of Health (NIH) and used by researchers from around the world. It may not be primarily designed for study participants, but anyone can search for ongoing and completed studies.

Internetpsykiatri.se is runned by the health care provider Region Stockholm and offers internet-mediated CBT for various forms of mental illness. In many cases, scientific studies are also carried out by researchers at Karolinska Institutet, in which patients can take part if they wish to do so. In Swedish only.

Klinisk farmakologisk prövningsenhet (Clinical pharmacological testing unit) at the Karolinska University Laboratory is evaluating new drugs. They are looking for healthy research subjects who are at least 18 years old and who can participate in clinical trials. In Swedish only.

Vaccelerate is a European research project, which includes both Karolinska Institutet and Karolinska University Hospital. One of the aims of the project is to build up a database with people who are interested in testing new vaccines – both for COVID-19 and in future pandemics.
