Research subjects – meet some of the volunteers
Each year hundreds of thousands of people take part in studies as research subjects. They answer questions about their lifestyles, provide blood samples, test new drugs, and so on. Medical research is entirely dependent on the contributions these healthy volunteers and patients make.

Blood plasma from recovered patients in new trial study
Sweden’s Ethical Review Authority has approved a small clinical trial, in which about 30 COVID-19 patients will receive blood plasma from people who have recovered from the disease.

The Swedish Twin Registry
The Swedish Twin Registry is the largest of its kind and is based at Karolinska Institutet. The Registry was established in the 1960s and contains information about some 87 000 twin pairs.
