Simon Torikka Suua

I am a doctoral student in Maria Hagströmer’s research group at the Department of Neurobiology, Care Sciences and Society, Division of Physiotherapy.

My research centres on cancer rehabilitation, with a particular focus on exercise interventions. I am currently working on a randomised controlled trial evaluating rehabilitation after radical cystectomy for urinary bladder cancer. Our team has reported short-term outcomes and is now investigating long-term (12-month) effects, as well as conducting a process evaluation.

I am motivated by the opportunity to translate clinical research into meaningful improvements in patient care and recovery.
