Research

  • As an educational scientist, I am part of the research group Lifelong Learning in Health Care Contexts (LLiHCC) at Karolinska Institutet, led by Professor Terese Stenfors.

My research is rather eclectic, but my main line of inquiry concerns the environments in which students learn and teachers work, and how stakeholders across different health professions perceive and experience these contexts. A central aim is to explore how we can develop educational settings that are sustainable, of high quality, and adapted to the needs of various healthcare professional programs. More specifically, I study the meaning and inner dynamics of educational environments, seeking to better understand their different dimensions in order to support their continuous development.

I use a mixed-methods approach, drawing on both quantitative and qualitative research traditions.

In addition to my work in medical education, I also have a scholarly interest in musculoskeletal health, with a particular focus on treatment and prevention.

I am Associate Editor of Medical Teacher and a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Chiropractic Education. I regularly serve as a peer reviewer for journals including Medical Teacher,  Academic Medicine,  Medical Education,  Advances in Health Sciences Education,  BMC Medical Education,  Perspectives on Medical Education,  Teaching and Learning in Medicine,  Nursing Open,  Chiropractic & Manual Therapies,  Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics,  European Journal of Physiotherapy,  Journal of Chiropractic Education,  International Journal of Medical Education,  Journal of Chiropractic Humanities,  Journal of Rehabilitation Research and Development, and Journal of Chiropractic Medicine.
