About me

  • I am a Senior Consultant of Infectious Diseases, sub-specialized in HIV care, at the Department of Infectious Diseases, Karolinska University Hospital.  

  • I am an Assocate professor (docent in Swedish) and Team leader of Team HIV comorbidity at the Department of Medicine Huddinge, Unit of Infectious Diseases and Dermatology at KI. I am also affiliated to the Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics at KI, Solna. 
  •  

  • Since 2021 I am the Director of the National Quality Register of HIV (InfCareHIV).




Research

  • My research is focused on epidemiological register-based studies, mainly on comorbidity in people living with HIV. Through linking of the Swedish National HIV Register 

  • InfCareHIV with other nationwide demographic and health registers Team HIV Comorbidity collect population-based data on an individual level to study time-trends, prediction-models, mortality rates and risk factors of comorbidity in people living with and without HIV.

     

  • At KI I collaborate with among others

  • Professor Peter Bergman and Dr Sara Arroyo-Mühr at the Department of Laboratory Medicine, Professor Karin Ekström Smedby and Ass professor Pontus Naucler at the Department of Medicine Solna, and Professor Pär Sparén at the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at KI Solna. Outside of KI I have collaborations with among others Professor Magnus Gisslén and Ass Professor Aylin Yilmaz at Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Professor Magnus Boman at KTH, and Dr Philippe Wagner and Olof Elvstam at Lund University.

     

  • I am  

  • also involved in three international multi-cohort studies
  • CASCADE, EuroSIDA and RESPOND of which she is the Swedish PI of CASCADE and EuroSIDA.

     

  • Current projects on comorbidity are:

    1. Cancer screening och prevention: machine-learning based prediction modeling
    2. HPV-related cancer by HIV-status
    3. biomarkers and prediction modeling
    4. COVID-19 &
    5. HIV: Incidence, severity, mortality, and secondary effects of COVID-19  
    6. by HIV- status
    7. Immunological non-responders: Epidemiology, comorbidity, and mortality in people with HIV,  
    8. Lymphoma &
    9. HIV: Incidence, risk, and survival of lymphoma-diagnosis by HIV-status
