About me

  • My interest in the immune system began during my Ph.D. studies, where I explored the role of neutrophils and neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) in cancer biology. In 2017, I initiated the MEDECA study, which investigates immune markers as diagnostic tools for detecting occult cancer.

  • In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, I expanded my research to explore humoral and cellular immune responses to SARS-CoV-2 infection and vaccination through the COMMUNITY study. More recently, my group has focused on mucosal immunity, particularly the role of secretory IgA in the respiratory mucosa. This includes a collaborative project aimed at understanding how different glycoforms of mucosal IgA contribute to protection against infection.

  • Currently, I balance my clinical work as a physician in the Department of Medicine at Danderyd Hospital with my ongoing research efforts, aiming to bridge the gap between basic science and clinical applications in immunology.
