The Post-COVID Network at the ISLC-PAIS Conference in Amsterdam, August 2026
The Post-COVID Network joined the ISLC-PAIS Conference in Amsterdam August 26-29, to share new findings, exchange knowledge and discuss future research on treatment and rehabilitation for post-COVID conditions.

The ISLC-PAIS Conference in Amsterdam provided insightful and inspiring days, covering topics from basic science to treatment and rehabilitation for post-COVID conditions. The conference was filled with knowledge exchange, new perspectives, networking opportunities, and important discussions about the way forward.
Representing the Post-COVID Network at Karolinska Institutet were Judith Bruchfeld, Anna Törnberg, Karolina Stjernström, Anna Svensson-Raskh, and Malin Nygren-Bonnier. Preliminary findings from several sub-studies were presented, including the long-term follow-up of the ReCOV project, the prevalence of dysfunctional breathing, exercise interventions for POTS, inspiratory muscle training, and methodological development.
The field of post-COVID research is evolving rapidly, but more research is needed before we have sufficient knowledge to offer effective treatments and rehabilitation interventions. Our findings show that while some individuals improve over time, many continue to live with symptoms and conditions that affect their lives several years after the initial illness.
