Childhood Cancer Epidemiology

We perform epidemiological studies of children with cancer at a national, Nordic and international level. The research group develops registry applications for storing and collecting data and supports clinical studies. In addition, CCEG offers epidemiological and statistical support to scientists within the field of childhood cancer research.

CCEG is responsible for the Swedish childhood cancer quality registry and gives service as the Data manager of a new epidemiological study called NOPHO-CARE (A Nordic study on epidemiology, biology, treatment and survival of children with cancer and severe hematological diseases) which is a collaboration within the countries included in the Nordic Society of Paediatric Haematology and Oncology (NOPHO). The registry data provide a platform for CCEG’s research activity.

Childhood Cancer Epidemiology

Epidemiology of the late-effects of cancer at a young age

The CCEG undertakes national and international analyses of childhood cancer incidence, mortality and survival, as well as more complex research like outcomes of treatment. Much of the research is conducted in collaboration with scientists elsewhere (e.g. members of the Nordic Society of Paediatric Haematology and Oncology). Through its databases, the CCEG supports extensive network of clinical and translational scientists. This work has resulted in a large number of publications based on data from the registries and statistical analysis done by the CCEG as important components. List of publications can be found on https://cceg.ki.se/
