Our courses
MedS is responsible for several courses in the biomedical and medical programmes, and one in public health sciences. The close co-operation between the department and the hospital provides our students with a unique opportunity to understand and apply the basics of biomedicine and medicine while developing their critical thinking.
Our courses in the biomedical programmes:
- Molecular Medicine - Cardiometabolic and Infectious Diseases,
(15 credits, in the Bachelor's Programme in Biomedicine). - Frontiers in Biomedicine,
(10,5 credits, in the Master's Programme in Biomedicine). - Frontiers in translational medicine,
(13 credits, in the Master's Programme in Molecular Techniques in Life Science).
Our course in the Master's Programme in Public Health Sciences:
- Systematic review and meta-analysis (3 credits).
Our courses in the medical programme (the medical programme at Karolinska Institutet is entirely taught in Swedish):
- Medicinsk diagnostik med basvetenskaplig integrering (22,5 credits).
- Klinisk medicin 1: Invärtesmedicinsk inriktning (30 credits).
- Klinisk medicin 2: Invärtesmedicinsk fördjupning och breddning (25,5 credits).
- Expeditions- och vildmarksmedicin (3 credits).
- Fokus akutsjukvård - den akuta vårdkedjan (7,5 credits).
