Clinical Integration at PRECISE
The Center for Embryonic and Prenatal Precision Medicine - PRECISE clinical research area will be located at the premises of Karolinska University Hospital Huddinge, Centre for Fetal Medicine.
The ultimate long-term goal is the clinical integration embedding precision diagnostics and personalized treatment directly into routine periconceptional and prenatal care aiming to provide:
- Preimplantation and prenatal genomic diagnostics
Non-invasive preimplantation diagnosis, rapid WGS/WES for fetal anomalies, NIPT expansion to non-invasive diagnosis of monogenic disorders where indicated. - Phenotyping
AI assisted analysis of timelapse embryo images in vitro followed by high-resolution ultrasound imaging in vivo during late embryonic and early fetal stages of development to establish normal reference phenotype of early human development and facilitate early anomaly detection. - Less invasive fetal therapy
Prenatal treatment to reduce the need for intrauterine transfusions for fetal red cell and platelet alloimmunizations, stem cells and gene-based fetal therapy trials. - Maternal precision medicine
Improved management of recurrent implantation failure, early pregnancy loss, polygenic risk scoring, metabolic profiling, and immunological risk assessment. Plasma cfRNA based non-invasive monitoring of placental and maternal immune dynamics in pregnancy.
