The 3rd Cancer Research KI PI Retreat will take place at the beautiful Sånga Säby Conference Hotel on February 16-17, 2026.
This exclusive 2-day meeting —open only to PIs leading research groups/teams within cancer research at KI— offers a unique opportunity to:
- Present your research
- Engage in interdisciplinary networking
- Explore new collaborations and funding initiatives
Whether you are a returning participant or joining for the first time, we encourage you to take part in this inspiring and collaborative event focused on high-quality science, networking, and future-oriented research exchange.
Please note: The PI Retreat is only open for Principal Investigators (PIs) that head research groups/teams at Karolinska Institutet within the cancer field.
Registration
Registration is by invitation only. You should have received an invitation email from Cancer Research KI with detailed instructions on how to register for the PI Retreat.
If you have not received this email, or if you are not currently on our PI list but believe you meet the criteria to be considered a PI, please contact us at cancerresearchki@ki.se and we will assist you.
- Registration fee: 1900 SEK (excluding VAT)
- Registration deadline: November 17, 2025

Cancellations and name changes
Name changes and cancellations should be made in writing to CRKI-PI-retreat2026@akademikonferens.se.
To ensure that resources are used efficiently and that as many PIs as possible have the opportunity to participate, we are implementing a stricter cancellation policy for this year's retreat.
Please read the full cancellation policy in your registration confirmation email or below.
Due to the high interest for participation in the Cancer Research KI PI Retreat, a stricter cancellation policy than previously will be in place from 2025.
Cancellations should be made in writing to the conference secretariat at
CRKI-PI-retreat2026@akademikonferens.se. If you cancel a still unpaid registration, you will be charged a cancellation fee of SEK 750.
- Cancellations made by 24 November 2025: The total amount will be refunded except for the cancellation fee, SEK 750.
- Cancellations made after 24 November 2025: No refunds will be issued.
- Cancellation of separate activities or meals: Not refundable.
- Cancellations made after 9 February 2026: Without prior information, any cancellation by this date or later will be charged SEK 4700 (full cost of participation).
The full charge of SEK 4700 will also apply in the following cases:
- If a requested accommodation is not used, or cancelled, later than 9 February.
- Lack of attendance at the Retreat in spite of prior registration (i.e., "no-show")
Change of Name
Should you be unable to attend, you will be given the opportunity to send someone in your place at no extra cost. If this should be the case, please contact the conference administration office, Academic Conferences at CRKI-PI-retreat2026@akademikonferens.se and and Cancer Research KI at cancerresearchki@ki.se with the following information:
- Your name
- The name of your replacement
- The person who will be replacing you in CC
