Cancer Research KI collaboration with National Institute of Oncology
Karolinska Institutet and Karolinska University Hospital strengthend their relationship with the National Institute of Oncology (Hungary) in cancer research and education.
In 2021, Karolinska Institutet and Karolinska University Hospital signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the field of research and education with the National Institute of Oncology (NIO). MoU applies to everything from student exchanges and joint courses and conferences to research collaboration at various levels. The parties undertake to comply with international principles and agreements on academic freedom.
NIO is the only accredited Comprehensive Cancer Center in Eastern Europe. The institute's activities include care development, registry coordination and research in the field of cancer for the whole of Hungary, including some 10 million people. The collaboration is managed trough Cancer Research KI and the Karolinska CCC.
Strengthened collaboration with Hungary in the field of cancer
Karolinska Institutet has signed a collaborative agreement with the Hungarian National Institute of Oncology, NIO. The planned collaboration will primarily take place within the framework of Karolinska Comprehensive Cancer Centre together with Karolinska University Hospital.

Radiotherapy Workshop with the National Institute of Oncology Budapest
Save the date for the second radiotherapy workshop in Stockholm within the framework of the "twinning agreement" between KI and NIO. The workshop will cover radiotherapy (RT) related research ongoing at Karolinska University Hospital, KI and NIO. It will cover several topics such as brachytherapy, SBRT, clinical RT trials and preclinical RT research.

Radiotherapy Workshop organised by Cancer Research KI and National Institute of Oncology - Budapest
Radiotherapy Workshop is now open for registration for PhD Students, Postdocs, researchers and clinicians within Karolinska Insitutet or Karolinska Hospital.
The workshop will cover different aspects of radiotherapy in a two-day setting with theoretical and practical sessions.
Deadline for registration: 12th of April, 2024.
