After that, the advertisement closes and disappears from the list of vacancies. Once you have submitted your application, you will receive an email confirming that we have received it.
Selection and interview
When the application period has expired, we make a selection based on the requirements profile for the position. We select based on who best matches the requirements for education, experience and competences specified in advertisement. If you are one of those who best matches the requirements you will be invited to an interview. For employment as Senior Lecturer or Professor the Recruitment Committee will appoint experts in the field after the application period has expired. The expert reviewers will review the applications and make their recommendations of the most qualified candidates. Based on the external expert’s assessments the Recruitment Committee will invite one or more candidates for interview.
If you are invited to an interview
During the interview, you usually meet a recruiting manager and generally one or two other employees. At Karolinska Institutet, we work with competence-based recruitment. This means that the questions in the interview are asked based on the characteristics and abilities that are requested in the advertisement. During the interview, you will be asked to describe previous situations and give examples based on them. You can prepare yourself by thinking through situations in your previous work, where you have used the qualities, abilities or experiences required in the ad. For employment as Senior Lecturer of Professor the Recruitment Committee members and department representative will ask you questions regarding different aspects of your research, teaching and leadership. We recommend that you prepare to explain how you suit the particular job description, what your future plans would be if you would be offered the position, and how you imagine your future commitment to KI’s education and research.
We care about recruitment processes being objective and therefore we ask questions that are relevant to the current profile's requirements. As part of the overall assessment, you may also be asked to take one or more web-based work psychology tests. If you become one of our final candidates, we will ask for your references at the end of the process.
