Driven by a deep curiosity and a desire to understand how the body works, his goal is to translate knowledge into improved treatments. At KI, his research focuses on immunology and immuno-oncology, combining fundamental questions with clear clinical relevance.

What attracted you to KI?
"KI offers a unique combination of strong research infrastructure and close clinical collaboration, enabling real patient impact. I was looking for an environment where I could grow as an independent researcher, and from the start I’ve felt trusted and supported. Here, I can truly develop ideas that make a difference."

What sets KI apart from other research environments you have been part of?
"What stands out to me is the scale and diversity of scientific expertise, which creates a uniquely dynamic environment. There’s a real openness to exchanging ideas and casual conversations – sometimes sparked by a random 'fika' – which can lead to new perspectives or unexpected collaborations. This kind of intellectual cross-fertilisation is both rare and exciting."

What do you hope to achieve during your time as an Assistant Professor at KI?
"I aim to advance immuno-oncology and develop more precise, personalised cancer treatments. By harnessing the immune system, my goal is to improve outcomes for patients with blood cancers. I also hope to mentor young researchers and contribute to long-term progress towards a cure."
