Ätstörningar

Det övergripande syftet med programområdet ätstörningar är att stimulera ökad framväxt av långsiktiga forskningsprojekt som behandlar aktuella kliniska problem och bidrar till utveckling av kunskap om behandling av ätstörningar.

Utveckling av kvalitetsregistersarbete har hög prioritet. Klinisk forskning kan förenklas betydligt om vården bedrivs med utgångspunkt i standardiserad metodik för bedömning och uppföljning.

Inom Stockholms området registreras för närvarande >90% av patienterna som påbörjar specialiserad ätstörningsvård i Stepwise, ett utvidgat kvalitetsregister som omfattar vetenskapligt standardiserade metoder för diagnostik, bedömning och självskattning av symptom.

Några exempel på specifika områden som är i behov av ökad uppmärksamhet inom forskningen är biologiska faktorers betydelse för ätstörningars uppkomst, bedömning och diagnostik av ätstörning, förekomst av ätstörning hos pojkar och män, och självbildsaspekter och neuropsykiatriska/neurokognitiva faktorers betydelse.
