Om mig

Jag är sociolog och har arbetat som forskare vid Aging Research Center (ARC), sedan 2004. Idag är jag lektor och verksam inom den socialgerontologiska gruppen vid ARC, samt forskningsledare vid Stiftelsen Stockholms läns Äldrecentrum. Innan jag kom till ARC var jag doktorand och forskare vid Institutet för Social Forskning vid Stockholms Universitet (SU). Jag är docent i sociologi sedan 2009.

Jag är projektledare och ansvarig för planeringen och genomförandet av Undersökningen om äldre personers levnadsvillkor – SWEOLD. SWEOLD är en longitudinell riksrepresentativ undersökning av Sveriges äldre befolkning.

Forskningsbeskrivning

Jag har under många år forskat kring äldre personers levnadsförhållanden. Mina forskningsintressen kan kategoriseras inom följande områden: hälsa och hälsotrender; bestämningsfaktorer för hälsa och ojämlikhet i hälsa, sociala och ekonomiska levnadsförhållanden; socialt deltagande och ensamhet; och utbytet av tid och pengar mellan äldre föräldrar och deras vuxna barn.

Ett annat forskningsintresse är de metodologiska utmaningar som uppkommer i undersökningar om äldre personers hälsa och levnadsvillkor. Vi studerar bland annat hur väl olika samhällsgrupper är representerade i både tvärsnitts- och longitudinella studier och i vilken utsträckning undersökningsdesignen och bortfallet påverkar studieresultaten.
