Jag är biostatistiker och epidemiolog med forskningsintressen inom reproduktionsepidemiologi och cancerepidemiologi.

Forskningsbeskrivning
Min forskning handlar om cancer och reproduktionsfaktorer, med särskilt fokus på graviditetsnära cancer, dvs cancer som diagnosticeras under eller inom 2 år efter graviditet. Jag har också ett vidare intresse av reproduktionsfaktorer (antal barn, IVF, ålder vid barn, förlossningskomplikationer) och cancerrisk, samt hur barnafödandet påverkas hos unga canceröverlevare. Pga förbättrade behandlingar och överlevnad är det viktigt att utvärdera vilka möjligheter unga kvinnor och män har att bilda familj efter cancer.
Mitt andra forskningsområde rör bröstcancer hos kvinnor. Jag studerar hur överlevnaden förbättrats över tid, och vilka patient- och tumörfaktorer som påverkar överlevnaden. I detta arbete samarbetar jag med kliniker på Karolinska Universitetssjukhuset, samt med forskare på Cancer Registry of Norway.
Som statistiker är mina forskningsintressen hur man på bästa sätt kan använda registerdata för att skatta sjukdomsrisker i befolkningen, bl a genom att använda smartare studiedesigner och statistiska metoder.

Forskningsdokumentation och datahantering
Kvaliteten på all forskning beror i högsta grad på kvaliteten hos data. Jag har arbetat i många år med att förbättra rutinerna för forskningsdokumentation och datahantering inom forskningsprojekten på KI. Arbetet omfattar allt från standardiserade variabellistor och variabelvärden, kommenterad och strukturerad statistisk programmering, versionshantering till dokumentation av hela forskningsprojekt och etiska tillstånd.
Jag har drivit utvecklingen av riktlinjer för forskningsdokumentation på vår institution, samt undervisat enkla och effektiva tekniker för forskningsdokumentation till epidemiologer, kliniker och forskare på KI och utanför KI. Jag är regelbundet inbjuden talare om detta ämne.
Tillämpad biostatistiker
Som tillämpad biostatistiker arbetar jag inom flera olika forskningsprojekt på MEB. Exempel på sådana projekt är: sjukskrivningar hos bröstcancerpatienter, diagnosmetoder för bröstcancer, IVF och neuroutveckling, sociala generationsskillnader i mortalitet, sömnstörningar och risk för demens, HPV och cervixcancer, långtidseffekter av bröstcancerbehandling.
