FAQ
Frequent and common questions about the Job-Exposure Matrices are published here.
If you have other inquiries or questions, we refer you to our email. See contact card below.
a. Is EuroJEM free of charge?
Yes. However, if a JEM from EuroJEM is used as the main exposure, a member of the EuroJEM steering committee should be invited to participate in the research and provide input on the use of EuroJEM.
b. Can we change the wording in the legal agreements when we request the EuroJEM?
No.
c. Can the EuroJEM be applied on specific individual patients, cases or persons?
No. You merge your data set to the EuroJEM using occupational codes. EuroJEM is intended for use in large populations or cohorts. All individuals within the same occupation will be assigned the same exposure estimate. However, actual exposure levels may vary between individuals within the same occupation, and this variability is not captured in the EuroJEM estimates.
d. Are all the JEMs in EuroJEM published?
No, not yet. If publication information is available on a specific JEM page, that JEM has been published. The information on this page and the respective JEM pages will be updated once all parts of EuroJEM have been published.
e. Can EuroJEM be modified?
Yes. EuroJEM is intended to be dynamic. The included JEMs may be updated in the future with additional exposures or recoded into other occupational classification systems. Version numbers will indicate the specific version of each JEM.
