MONSUE monitored suicidal behaviour across Europe by compiling data on risk and protective factors, identifying vulnerable groups and suicide hot spots, and developing measures to prevent suicide and evaluate their impact.
Monitoring Suicidal Behaviour in Europe (MONSUE) collected and analyzed information about suicidal behavior, mental illness, risk factors, and protective factors across Europe.
The project focused on:
- Identifying groups at higher risk, methods used, environments linked to suicidal behavior (“hot spots”), and individual and social factors connected to suicide risk, including how these factors change over time.
- Developing and evaluating measures aimed at reducing suicidal behavior and assessing how effective these measures are in practice.
