Yihan Hu

I am a postdoctoral researcher focusing on neuroepidemiology, with an emphasis on causal inference and registry-based research to answer clinically relevant questions using real-world health data.

My research uses large-scale observational data, particularly Swedish health and population registries, to study disease risk, prognosis, and treatment outcomes. I apply causal inference approaches (such as target trial emulation and methods addressing time-varying confounding) to strengthen the credibility of estimates derived from non-randomized data. My work focuses on neurological and neurodegenerative diseases, including multiple sclerosis, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, and epilepsy. I am particularly interested in longitudinal analysis examining disease trajectories over time, as well as methodological questions surrounding bias, missing data, and generalizability in registry-based studies.
