Sophia Brismar Wendel

Sophia Brismar Wendel works as lead obstetrician at the labor and delivery ward, at the Department of Women's Health, Danderyd Hospital and is affiliated to research as adjunct senior lecturer and docent at the Department of Clinical Sciences. Sophia's main research areas involve clinical trials regarding interventions to prevent pregnancy complications or intrapartal complications such as pelvic floor injury at childbirth, severe hemorrhage at cesarean section, fetal demise in prolonged pregnancy, as well as epidemiological studies based on register data and clinical patient cohorts regarding for example COVID-19 in pregnancy and early childhood and breech birth, but also more experimental areas such as AI to improve interpretation of CTG. Sophia has supervised two and co-supervised one PhD students to dissertation. Sophia currently supervises three PhD students and co-supervises five PhD students.
