About me

  • I studied medicine at Karolinska Institutet from 1992 to 1998, was a licensed physician in 2000, and a specialist in gynecology and obstetrics in 2005. I defended my thesis in 2009. I work as a lead obstetrician at the labor and delivery ward at the Department of Women's Health and Childbirth, Danderyd Hospital. I am affiliated with research as an adjunct senior lecturer and docent (associate professor) at the Department of Clinical Sciences. I have supervised three and co-supervised two PhD student to their dissertation. I currently supervise four PhD students and co-supervise five PhD students. 

Research

  • My main research areas involve clinical trials, epidemiological and some experimental research.

    • Clinical trials regard interventions to prevent pregnancy complications or intrapartal complications such as pelvic floor injury at childbirth (EVA), severe hemorrhage at cesarean section (ACT, fetal demise in prolonged pregnancy (SWEPIS), home induction (OPTION), improved neonatal outcomes at emergency CS (SUCCECS) and labor (PICRINO), and more.
    • Epidemiological studies include register data and clinical patient cohorts, for example, COVID-19 in pregnancy and early childhood, obstetric anal sphnicter injuries, interpregnancy interval, and breech birth.
    • Experimental research includes AI to improve the interpretation of CTG..
