My early research focused on the development and plasticity of cognitive functions in children. Part of that research line was to assess training of cognitive functions with computerized methods, which also lead me into the industry sector where I worked with R&D for Pearson for six years. Since 2017 my focus has largely been on understanding the development of mental health issues with youth and the association to digital media use. I run a non-profit organisation that has developed a school based prevention program to spread knowledge to adolescents and their parents in order to improve mental health. The program is video-based combining dramatized scenes and scientific explanations to convey knowledge in a relatable way to strengthen health promoting behaviours and the use of evidence based strategies to handle difficult thoughts and feelings. The effects of the program, called Det syns inte, is being studied.
