About me

  • I am a PhD student at the Centre for Epidemiology and Community Medicine (CES) and research group Intervention processes and outcomes (PROCOME) at LIME, Karolinska Institutet. My background is in public health and my research interest is in prevention and evaluation.

    My PhD project

The main objective of my thesis is to investigate the content of the health examination (HE) and use of screening for mental illness among populations with migration background. The purpose is to describe and understand the content in the HE and how well it is designed to address mental illness. A further aim is to implement standardized screening for mental illness and to understand differences in risk for mental illness between groups as well as to discern factors contributing to disparities in mental illness. Using both qualitative and quantitative methods, the hope is to give a broad understanding of barriers and challenges with the HE and how a screening instrument can moderate conversations/assessment of mental illness concerns during contact with patients.

At the Center for Epidemiology and Community Medicine I work in different evaluations programs, currently I´m the project leader of a project called Organiserad Prostatacancertestning (OPT) in Region Stockholm Gotland.
