About me
I am a postdoctoral researcher in Cognitive Behavioral Neuroscience at the Karolinska Institute, Department of Clinical Neuroscience, Psychology Division, Nutritional Neuroscience Research Group. My focus is on perceptual processes, specifically on multisensory integration mechanisms of -mostly- the chemical senses (gustation and olfaction). I utilize neuroimaging methods like EEG, MEG, and fMRI to investigate neural processes while trying to push forward the ways of investigating the chemical senses in combination with these imaging methods.
Research
My background is in Molecular biology and Genetics on undergraduate level and in Cognitive Science on graduate level. During my PhD, I investigated the perceptual and behavioral effects of Neuromodulation of the Vagus Nerve on food consumption using EEG with Dr. Marga Veldhuizen and Dr. Burcu Ayşen Ürgen. Currently I am working on multisensory perception of olfaction and gustation with MEG in relation to food reward and hunger with Dr. Janina Seubert and Dr. Christoph Pfeiffer.
