About me

  • I am a postdoctoral researcher working in Karin Modig's research group -
Aging and Health - at the Institute of Environmental Medicine (IMM). My main
research interest concerns atrial fribrillation (AF), its risk factors and
prognosis, using large population-based cohorts and serum biomarker datasets.
My past and current projects have extensively focused on modifiable risk
factors for AF, for instance how midlife metabolic and inflammatory levels
(e.g., serum lipids and uric acid) are associated with later life risk of AF,
to inform a better prevention already in middle ages. My studies also aim for
the improvement in short and long term prognosis of AF, investigating whether
risk of major clinical outcomes of AF have changed over time, the role of
co-morbidities, and the influence of different treatment.
2012-2014: Master's Degree in Public Health Sciences (Epidemiology),
    Karolinska Institutet
2016-2020: PhD in Geriatric Epidemiology, Aging Research Center, NVS,
Karolinksa Institutet. Thesis: /"The role of atrial fibrillation in cognitive
    aging: a population-based study"/
2020-present: Postdoctoral fellow, Institute of Environmental Medicine,
    Karolinska Institutet

  • Teacher (lecturing, group work, and examination) in Master level courses at
/Methods for studying the distribution of health/
