About me

  • I am a biomedical researcher specializing in neurodegeneration in Alzheimer’s disease (AD). I received my Ph.D. in Biomedical Science and Engineering from the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology, Republic of Korea, in 2025, and my B.Sc. in Physics from Chungnam National University, Republic of Korea, in 2015. Since 2025, I have been a member of the Nordberg Translational Imaging Lab, where I am excited to conduct research on Alzheimer’s disease and related neurodegenerative processes.

Research

  • I am interested in neurodegenerative disease study by a multimodal approach. During my Ph.D., I investigated how blood oxygenation in the brain changes during cognitive stimulation in Alzheimer's Disease (AD), depending on disease severity. In KI, I am going to expand my expertise by exploring how neurodegenration affects neurons and glial cells differently inside the brain and how those neurodegenerations can be visualized when using PET imaging and plasma biomarkers. I plan to integrate these analyses with relevant biomarkers to achieve a more comprehensive understanding neurodegenerative disease.
