About me

I am a clinical epidemiologist and physician training in respiratory medicine. I conduct research on chronic inflammatory diseases and cancer using large databases and clinical data. Among others, I am doing studies on sarcoidosis and systemic lupus erythematosus, and environmental exposures and their role in childhood cancer.

My research uses register-based data from the Nordic countries complemented with clinical data from national and local quality registers. I am genuinely interested in exploring and employing novel epidemiological and statistical methods for register-based research of chronic disease in adults and children.

I am teaching courses on epidemiology and systematic reviews and meta-analyses to students at the Master's and PhD level as well as for medical residents. I am also involved in the education of medical students.
