About me
- Since I started out as a researcher in 1987, my research and that of my colleagues has been focused on cardiovascular prevention and the role of lifestyle in cardiovascular health, with a special interest in physical activity and nutrition. My research group collaborates closely with several other research groups in epidemiology, health economics, metabolism, molecular biology, and molecular genetics at Karolinska Institutet, Uppsala University, GIH – the Swedish School of Sport and Health Sciences, and Umeå University. We also have collaborations with research groups internationally.
I have delivered about 150 scientific presentations as an invited speaker at international meetings and about 450 presentations at national scientific meetings. In addition to these overview lectures, I have also presented my own work in the form of some 70 abstracts at scientific meetings.
Throughout my career, I have also engaged with the wider society and shared my knowledge of the importance of lifestyle for health. I have contributed to countless newspaper articles, radio and TV features, cookbooks, and self-help programs.
