Principal investigator of the Study on Orthostatic Tremor in Sweden - SOTIS.

Previous studies in biochemistry and history of religion at Stockholm University and has experience in both preclinical and clinical research.

My main area is movement disorders with a particular focus on the rare neurological disease primary orthostatic tremor. I am the principal investigator for the study on which my doctoral project is based upon, and have been involved in the project since the beginning. The study is carried out in collaboration with several other research groups at the Karolinska Institutet and the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. The study consists of several sub-projects.

Part 1 is an epidemiological cross-sectional study on Primary Orthostatic Tremor. We are actively looking for more interested participants from all over Sweden who have been diagnosed with orthostatic tremor. Inclusion will be ongoing until spring 2025.

Part 2 is an in-depth analysis of orthostatic tremor (shaking). The study involves investigations in the Promobilia MoveAbility Lab at KTH, in collaboration with Professor Lanie Gutierrez Farewik and Professor Erik Fransén at KTH.

Part 3 is a study of how the brain reacts to proprioceptive stimulation and has been carried out in collaboration with Professor Daniel Lundqvist and postdoc Josefine Waldthaler at NatMEG, the National Facility for Magnetoencephalography at Karolinska Institutet,

Part 4 is a study of neurodegenerative signs in the brain investigated with Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) in collaboration with Professor Tobias Granberg and PhD Henrik Sjöström at Karolinska Institutet.
