Research

    Ongoing research: Celiac disease, Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), but also other gastroenterology. I am the coordinator of one of the world's largest gastrointestinal cohort studies: ESPRESSO (Epidemiology Strengthened by histoPathology Reports in Sweden), where we study various liver diseases, IBS, microscopic colitis, colorectal cancer, and celiac disease etc. I also do pediatric research, and have written numerous papers on Swedish National Health Registers.

    Main supervisor of 14 PhD students who have defended their theses. Among them are two now docents (Mårild and Emilsson) and one professor (Olén).

Teaching

  • I have also written several books and book chapters, e.g. "Att börja forska - inom medicin, bio- och vårdvetenskap" (Studentlitteratur 2002 and second edition in 2015), "Doktorns guide till gluten" (Volante 2016) and "Barnläkarens guide" (2020).
