Research

  • I am rated among "Highly Cited Researchers" by Clarivate.

    Ongoing research: Celiac disease, Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), but also other gastroenterology. I am the coordinator of one of the world's largest gastrointestinal cohort studies: ESPRESSO (Epidemiology Strengthened by histoPathology Reports in Sweden), where we study various liver diseases, IBS, microscopic colitis, colorectal cancer, and celiac disease etc. I also do pediatric research, and have written numerous papers on Swedish National Health Registers.

Teaching

  • Topics that I frequently discuss in my lectures are: evidence-based medicine (EBM)/epidemiology, celiac disease, emergency paediatrics, and Swedish national health registries (including the personal identity number).


    I have also written several books and book chapters, e.g. "Att börja forska - inom medicin, bio- och vårdvetenskap" (Studentlitteratur 2002 and second edition in 2015), "Doktorns guide till gluten" (Volante 2016) and "Barnläkarens guide" (2020).
