About me

  • I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Clinical Neuroscience at Karolinska Institutet, studying amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) from cellular mechanisms to clinical features. With a clinical background in neurology, I bridge laboratory and patient-oriented research on neurodegeneration and neuroinflammation.

Research

  • I focus on amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), from cellular mechanisms to clinical features. My laboratory work examines the non-neuronal contributors to motor neuron degeneration, including microglia-driven neuroinflammation and neurovascular dysfunction involving perivascular fibroblasts and other vascular cells. In parallel, I study the clinical characteristics of ALS, including its genetics, phenotypic heterogeneity, and biomarkers of disease progression. More broadly, I investigate how innate and adaptive immune cells contribute to neuroinflammatory disorders.
