About me
I graduated from medical school at Uppsala University in 2010. I then undertook a two-year clinical internship at Västerås Regional Hospital. Thereafter, I completed my residency in Neurology (2019) at Karolinska University Hospital. Since 2019, I work clinically at the Center for Neurology, Academic Specialist Center, focusing on parkinsonian movement disorders and other related neurodegenerative conditions.
Academically, I started conducting MRI research in 2015, writing my thesis (which I defended in 2020) on the application of advanced MRI techniques and their application in Parkinson’s disease and atypical parkinsonian syndromes. My post-doctoral work has been focused on both parkinsonian disorders, but also broadening the aims to also include other neurodegenerative and/or movement disorders. Current foci include applications of susceptibility-weighted and saturation transfer imaging modalities in 3 Tesla and 7 Tesla contexts to elucidate pathological processes in neurodegenerative disorders.
