Ewa Stenwall

I was employed at the Division of Nursing in 2009, where over the years I have served as course coordinator, examiner, and lecturer in several courses within the nursing program. My current teaching focuses primarily on geriatric nursing and caring.

I have held elected and entrusted positions within the department as well as the program.

Since 2025, I have a joint position with Stockholms Sjukhem, primarily focusing on research, development, and education (FoUU) within geriatric nursing and caring.

My thesis focuses on the encounter between older persons within acute confusional state, their family members, and healthcare professionals.

After completing my PhD, I have participated in two intervention projects on person‑centred care for persons with dementia in residential care facilities and home care services. Research leader: Professor Lena Borell and Professor PO Sandman.

I am a co‑researcher in a research program funded by FORTE on the prevention of elder abuse,  “Appeal, ” at Linköping University: https://liu.se/forskning/appeal, Research leader: Associate Professor Johanna Simmons.

I am a co-researcher, co-leader in workpage 3, in "KI Transdisciplinary Research Center for Personalized Dementia Prevention & Care (TraCeDem)” funded by FORTE
