About me

  • I am postdoctoral researcher at the Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, researcher at the Einstein Center Population Diversity (ECPD) and affiliated to Karin Modig's research group Aging and Health at IMM KI. I recently finished my doctoral thesis, which focused on intersectional inequalities on healthy aging in European older adults.

    Education
2016 - BSc Economics, Universitat Pompeu Fabra

2017 - MSc Health Economics, Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam

2026 - PhD in Social Epidemiology, Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin

Research

  • My research focuses on social epidemiology and gerontology. I am interested in how intersecting social determinants jointly shape disease and disability in older adults, especially for diverse sub-populations. In particular, I look at risk factors for outcomes such as cognitive functioning, multimorbidity and functional ability.

Sleep health is another research interest of mine, both as an outcome and as a mediator for downstream health outcomes in old age.

One of my goals is to develop biosocial approaches, bridging social theory with the biomedical field (biomarkers, GxE interactions).
