About me

  • Interested in interpreting biological patterns in cancer. From bench to
desk-side, equally excited for wet lab techniques and data analytics.

PhD in 'Inflammation-associated Carcinogenesis' IMBB/FORTH, Heraklion, GR

Msc 'The molecular Basis of Human Diseases', Medical School, UOC, Heraklion, GR

    Bsc Biology, AUTH, Thessaloniki, GR

Research

  • My research focuses on the molecular mechanisms underlying cancer biology, with a particular emphasis on the effect of metabolic stress on cell fate. I am especially interested in how dysregulation of ribosome biogenesis and function contributes to tumor development. In addition, I investigate the interplay between inflammation and cancer progression, aiming to uncover vulnerabilities that can be exploited for therapeutic intervention. Through a combination of functional genomics and molecular biology approaches, my work seeks to better understand the complex networks that drive malignancy and treatment resistance.

Teaching

  • I have broad teaching experience across several levels of the Biomedicine programmes at Karolinska Institutet, where I lecture in Biochemistry and Chemical Biology, supervise laboratory courses, assess project work in metabolism and disease-related subjects, and examine MSc theses. I also contribute to the Cancer Biology course through problem-based learning (PBL) sessions. In addition, I have served as a visiting lecturer in Biology at the Medical School of the University of Ioannina in Greece.
