I have a combined employment as a researcher in cancer epidemiology and medical oncologist. I was registered as a PhD student at the Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Karolinska Institutet in 2015 during my specialist training at the Department of Oncology At Karolinska Universitetssjukhuset. Since May 2018 I work as a medical oncologist with a focus on gastrointestinal malignancies at the the Department of Oncology at Södersjukhuset.
MD, Karolinska Institutet, 2010.
BSc, medicine, Karolinska Institutet, 2008.
The primary focus of my research is in cancer epidemiology with an emphasis on sex differences in cancer incidence and survival. I handle large volumes of data by linking several Swedish registers with high national coverage. This enables robust analyses of trends over different time axis. I apply a relative survival framework when estimating cancer mortality.
I am particularly interested in developing interactive, pedagogic tools for presenting my research findings.
Throughout my residency I have been committed in teching and leading seminars in clinical oncology as a part of the medical education at Karolinska Institutet. 2017/2018 I was responsible for coordinating and planning the education in palliative care for medical students as a part of the course in clinical oncology.
